The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus share largely the same design as their predecessor. Heck, they are of the exact same dimensions as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Yet, your existing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s cases will not fit the new iPhones.
This is because Apple has made some fundamental design changes to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus that will lead to existing cases not fitting the phone properly.
Firstly, all iPhone 6 cases and iPhone 6s have a hole at their bottom for the 3.5mm audio jack, which is missing on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
On a similar trend, the camera hump at the rear of the new iPhones is larger than previous iPhones, and the iPhone 7 Plus features a larger camera cut out since it features dual 12MP sensors.
All these minor yet significant design changes mean that your existing iPhone 6/6s cases will not fit the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.
If you are planning on buying the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, though, this should only be a minor inconvenience since plenty of cases for the latest iPhones are already available in the market.
You can always use this opportunity to buy a cute iPhone case that goes better with the new Jet Black or Black finish of the iPhone 7.
